I think 100um or .1mm is plenty thin, you really don't need thinner unless you're doing jewelry or small stuff, like you said.
I am completely happy with .1mm layers.
The only reason I want to try .05mm is to experiment with cure depth and warp control. I have a theory that I can get more accurate layer depth (without over cure) with thinner layers (.05mm)
If you think about it, The thicker the layer, the harder it is to control how deep the resin cures, and the deeper it cures, the more wavy the surface. With .05mm, I bet I can get flatter surfaces on the back side of the cure.
